On October 20-23rd, 2017, four OFYC members traveled to Washington, D.C. to participate in Foster Youth in Action‘s annual “Leaders for Change” conference!
We were joined by youth and young adult leaders from over 20 states to:
- build our skills as advocates
- learn about the work of other foster youth groups
- share our work as a model of foster youth-led advocacy
The theme of this year’s conference was “Standing Tall, Together We’re Stronger” and we focused on included sibling connections, living independently, and foster parent training.
